In obstetrics and gynecology a set may be used in an urgent delivery or in planned gynecological surgery, in very different settings and timeframes. The sets on this page follow that split: Delivery, Cesarean, Episiotomy, Dilation and Curettage, Hysterosalpingography, IUD Insertion and Vaginal Hysterectomy.

In a delivery room a set is sterilised several times a day. Surface finishing and hinge movement are therefore built to take repeated autoclave cycles, and corrosion is covered by a five year warranty.

Set composition can be changed. Items can be added or removed to match your own protocol, and instruments can be laser marked with your catalog number.

Delivery room sets and theatre sets do not wear at the same rate. Delivery and episiotomy sets are opened and closed many times a day, so hinges and ratchet teeth on these need checking more often than on others. A ratchet that no longer holds on the first tooth is the earliest sign that an instrument is tiring.

Cesarean and hysterectomy sets carry more items, which raises the risk of a counting error. Laying sets out in a fixed order, grouping items and laser marking instruments with your own catalog number reduce that risk. The marking is not erased by sterilisation cycles and stays readable years later.
